Known for pushing boundaries, our Shanghai-based Slovenian artist Matjaž Tančič has gained recognition and numerous awards for his innovative work showcased in various exhibitions worldwide. Tančič is currently featured in an exhibition at Fotografiska, Space – A Visual Journey, running until March 2, 2025, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in a contemplative exploration of humanity's relationship with space. Since the dawn of time, we have looked toward the stars for inspiration and insight, capturing celestial wonders through art as far back as ancient cave paintings.

He crafted this art collection, Mirabilia Astra, in the harsh environment of the Gobi Desert, where temperatures can drop as low as −40°C. Tančič’s work presents a modern interpretation of our timeless fascination with the unknown, exploring humanity's place in the universe and serving as both a visual journey and a tribute to the enduring human drive to reach beyond the stars.
